Carribean Blue is heavily pirate themed map built around two major islands. Featuring 7 points and a ton of watercraft, the core gameplay loop mostly focused on island hopping and marine style gameplay. The tropical jungles of the main island does play a role in the map, but it otherwise plays like a normal map. Relatively flat in terms of elevation, but there are plenty of changes to ensure that the map doesn't feel that way.
This map taught me a lot about how to utilize the editor properly, along with learning about the wonders of occlusion culling and optimization, which is still this map's weak point due to the slight over detailed nature of it.
Terrain was hand sculpted and re-iterated upon as time went on, as the nature of map began to take shape.
Assets primarily used are the ever present Synty sets, namely Tropical and the pirate sets. While they can be a bit overused at times, they are still high quality assets, and this map was namely an exercise in set dressing and familiarizing with the editor. Should I ever choose to remake this map, bringing in my own personally made assets would be the best choice.
